I am trying to follow along with Chris and her idea of blogging her weight issues. Although blogging about weight is not a new concept, her post struck me at the right time...it's called motivation...
I'm not sure how to follow with Chris other than a general healthier life. My weight issues stem from medication weight gain or loss, so that would not be a huge focus of my posts.. It would be more general than that, but still focusing on taking my life back from unhealthy practices..
I have lupus...I really screwed up taking tamoxifen, I mistook it for something else...I'm lucky it only caused lupus..I could have died..
Anyway, I'm real lousy at taking care of myself. Even simple things..making sure I take all my meds, at the right time.. I never do that.
I started knitting and crocheting as physical therapy for the small joint arthritis, that comes with lupus. Keeping the joints moving helps decrease the pain, and of course, increases function. A win-win situation...
My healthy project is a lapghan (lupus causes real temperature issues for me)..and coincidentally, that lapghan is designed by Chris.
This week I have been battling the stomach flu going around...I don't feel bad, just tied to the house. So I lived on saltines and soda..not exactly healthy eating..but it's all that the stomach would hold. I've broken out the Lysol wipes and am disinfecting everything!

Oh golly, I hope you feel better soon. I spent the weekend nursing a sinus/cold issue. I could not hear out of one ear, and the congestion continues. Praying you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteUGH - I hope you get to feeling better soon. Heck - being that sick, I'm thankful you were at least able to keep the soda and saltines down. I remember that was my mother's "go to" when I was a kid and I do it with my kids too. Specifically: 7up. *laughs*
ReplyDeleteI am flattered you chose my lapghan pattern as your life-ghan visual. How exciting!
I think that any health related changes are good - not everyone needs to lose weight... we all have our own changes that could make us healthier (taking meds on time, walking, weight loss, general food choices, etc). I think its great you are doing something to incorporate healthier practices. Eating/Being healthier would help with the lupus, yes?
Good for you! I look forward to your progress both with your health and your crochet :)
