Here in Wellfleet we've gone from cold, icy conditions...
to so much warmth
that we are fogged in...
Thick enough to hide everything.
My fun FIL, Charlie and I prepared finger foods to enjoy while
watching the football playoffs today..
Celery with Blue Cheese dip and
Buffalo Wings (that were just right...tasty but didn't burn your tongue off)
Stuffed shrimp (garlic, parmesan, parsley stuffing) wrapped in bacon
Pineapple stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon
Home made bruschetta topped with fresh basil, tomato, and shrimp..
Melon with whipped cream...
It is always a great time hanging out with family watching the game.
I was able to start new YOP projects this week..that's always fun..
This is Manly Sports Lapghan from Crochet with Chris.
I'm using various colors of Lily's cotton...this will be my first crochet afghan.. I have many problems crocheting long chains..
There is a chain stitch mashed up in there...I have to place markers every 5 chains...and count my way through the row..
I've also cast on the Sherbert Surprise Afghan.
Again using various colors from Lily's cotton..I'm just going to close my eyes and grab a color.. Notice Baby's paw in the lower corner..she always finds the yarn!
I'm changing around the colors and texts of the blog, so it may seem messy at times!

Finger foods look very tasty and looking forward to seeing the lapghan and the afghan grow. I find long chains fiddly and getting the tension right is a bit hit and miss with me at the moment but I'm getting there. I am still getting a rest in, well as much as before Evelyn was born lol. Hope your week is not to stressful
ReplyDeleteYour projects in progress look great.
ReplyDeleteLooking good. Your food makes me hungry!
ReplyDeleteThat food looked amazing and I wish I could have been there as I watched the playoffs all by myself. I did have corned beef and cabbage though so I didn't starve! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to start new projects and I love yours. I do the same...I have projects in the "various disciplines" of knitting, crochet, cross stitch, quilting, wool applique and then I wonder why I can't finish anything.
Take care this week and good luck on the dr. appointments....I hope all goes well.
P.S. I could probably be there for the Super Bowl if I start driving now! LOL!
Yum, that food sounds and looks good! I'm all about food, I love cooking, but I also love eating, good thing my family are all good eaters as I would be the size of a house!
ReplyDeleteYour new projects look good, I like that zingy Green on the sherbert surprise. Working the first row into a chain can be fiddly, only thing I can think of to make it easier would be to always start your project with a Foundation chain (and now I've had a mind block if that's what it's called) anyway its like the chain and first row all in one, so less likely to twist when you work into it. When I've left this comment, I will try and find the name and link!

ReplyDeleteFoundation single crochet.....my memory is as good as a goldfish! Worth a try, might make it easier, then again, maybe it'll make it more fussy!
Those foods look yummy, I'm very jealous of the amount of prawns (shrimp to you). And wow, two afghans at once? I couldn't do that, but they look great!
