YOP2013

Another week of bone chilling weather.  I am fond of this type of weather. Nature needs it.  I am not fond of it lasting weeks..and according to the weather reports, we will climb a bit this week, before dropping again...  A couple of inches of snow tonight, but hopefully that will melt off.

OHHH so close on finishing 2 YOP projects..

Many thanks for all the ideas and links for information on seaming up my 1st ever sweater..  I have only 2 seams left..

I'll be wearing it for next weeks update!  Well, I hope to be...

This is a wreathe from Redheart.  I am adjusting the snowflake size as I need much smaller ones..but I threw a couple on that I will not be using...just for this picture.  I also have a few more smaller yarn balls to attach...  This was a great way to get rid of unidentifiable yarn that has been in the stash forever..  since I can't seem to throw any away..even when it should be...

For my long term project: I have added a few more rounds to the sherbert surprise afghan..

I'm not loving the color combinations, maybe it's the order..as the order is random..whatever get's grabbed out of the bag..

so, every time I work on it I am challenged not to frog it...but I must not frog, I must not frog...that's part of my YOP learning issue..finishing a project that I am not in love with..cuz there is a good chance I will love the finish project!

We got a few new toys this week..DH got a new snowblower...the old one was..old and broken..not quite dependable...

I really do not think we even needed one...but we need to keep everything safe for Griz...so she insisted and paid for this new one..

I am the one that has to deal with the snow around the house as it is part of ry's job to keep the town safe..so he is always working during the snow..

I got myself a new portable external hard drive...  I have a couple of thousand..yes THOUSAND ebooks..and a couple of hundred audio books stored on this laptop...  they eat up the memory and slow it down..so I'm transferring them all over..

I hope everyone has a safe and happy week...

  1. Wow! You got a lot done....I'm not sure if I feel inspired or shamed on YOP Sundays! LOL!
I'm like you...I need to not frog...I kept redoing the same project for the first 6 months!
I love your sweater and so glad you got the info you needed....I know, I was no help at all. The wreath is darling! I've never seen anything like it. What a great way to use up those little balls of leftovers! I like the colors of the afghan....do not frog! LOL!
    Have a great week!

  2. You got loads done this week. I think the colours on your afghan will work out, don't frog have some faith with it. I think we all need a little of the harsh cold weather, it kills the bugs I find. I just have the thousands of books here on my floors and bookshelves mmmm perhaps on the computer is a better way to go!

  3. Hooray for new toys! And hooray for knitting--which by the way, I love your afghan-I think the colors work nicely but since I am doing a similar project, the grab and knit variety, I know the feelings of not sure I am liking it--but I agree with Ruth, for me and you, have faith! :)
Your snow looks lovely and I am green with envy as we have had none, NONE!, this winter and I like a day or two of it. We had temps cold enough to bring snow for 12 days, but all it brought was a murky, bone chilling, damp fog. YUCK! Not pretty in the least and downright depressing. Now we are back to cold, but less bone chilling, damp, gloomy rain. Sigh....
I was working on getting caught up on blog reading here on your site, and I just want to say how sorry I am about Pal....losing a pet is devastating and I dread the day we go through something like this with our Molly dog and Dodger cat. You have such a lovely attitude though, and it clear that Pal will live out his live happy and knowing he is loved.
