WIP..

It's been a while since I have posted any WIP's..  I have now filled 2 hard drives with ebooks, music, and pictures and I'm struggling to find space for more pictures of WIP's... yes, even a small picture sends up a red flag warning of "Danger, Danger, Will Robinson.."  the hard drive is gonna burst!

I'm back to making chemo caps..I will post on Friday if I will actually have to wear one..I'll know the results then..and truthfully, I've never had to wear one myself..I've had a pretty easy time with my illness..however..stock up on pink. I'll be gathering donations again for Octobers festival..all pink handmades accepted to raise awareness!

This is the Spring Twist Hat that I came across while looking for cute hat patterns using cotton..  I'm using cotton as I discovered a lot of people won't wear any animal fiber while on chemo...even the super soft can cause sensitivity issues..I was asked to use plant fibers...

I am also working on the second sock of my very first pair!  I've tried to knit a pair before only to get bogged down, but the gals at the Next Step Sock KAL and a few others gave me incentive to try again..
I've just completed the heel..and just like the 1st sock..having some issues with the gusset..so it's back to watching vid's on you tube..

On the nook is a novel by Debora Geary, A Modern Witch.  I got the series from a fellow Nova Scotian...a light, contemporary, solid read..No highs, no lows..just a steady story..

Off the needles, this guy has been visiting...I think he is a cooper's hawk..I can only identify them when flying..food is scarce for him this time of year...I just wish he didn't pick my yard as his hunting grounds!

I've got a couple of finished objects for Friday..  till then..

  1. Octobers festival is such a worthy one and hoping you get good results on Friday. Spring twist hat is an interesting one and well done on the sock.

  2. Gorgeous hawk! Cute hat, that spring twist one. Now I just hope the tutorials help you through gusset! Handmade socks are THE BEST!

  3. I absolutely love the hawk. I had loads of trouble with my first socks on the gusset as well - I just ploughed on ahead and it came out a big baggy when it was finished, but the second one came out much better! I didn't watch videos or really go for any tutorials at all, but I did for the second one because I was so determined to get it right. Good luck.

  4. Love that top photo yarn. So subtle, yet beautiful. Hope you are well. Yep, not buying yarn is kind of a bad thing. LOL!

  5. Welcome back to WIP Wednesday! I just put a new 750GB hard drive in my laptop, it's just begging to be filled with WIP photos! :-)

Lovely WIPs, and that's a great photo of your feathery friend!
